Da’Ron Wilson was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York. He Graduated from PHS, Class of 1993. He pursued an undergraduate degree from Virginia State University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a minor in Pre-Law in 1997. He received his Master of Science Degree from Mercy College in Adolescent Education 7-12, as well as his Masters in School Building Leadership and School District Leadership from Mercy College.

Having served as a Sergeant in the United States Army, Wilson is an Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve (2000-2008) and was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserve (2018-2021).

Da’Ron Wilson has worked for the Poughkeepsie City School District (PCSD) for over 20 years as a 7th–12th grade US History & Global Studies teacher, a Co-Principal, and a co-facilitator of the after-school initiative Brother 2 Brother. Wilson was instrumental in bringing the E-TECH school to the PCSD. He is a “turn-around” Principal for the Poughkeepsie City School District, serving as part of a team that boasted two of Poughkeepsie’s public schools out of New York State Receivership. Wilson is currently Executive Director of School Engagement with the Poughkeepsie City Schools District.

Previously, Da’Ron was a member of the Poughkeepsie City Zoning Board and a Youth Mentor for R.E.A.L. Skills Network Inc. Wilson is a recipient of the 2012 Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40 Mover and Shaker Award. He has also received the Poughkeepsie Neighborhood Club Community Service Award, The Beulah Baptist Black Achievers Award, The Black Heritage Committee of the Exempt Firemen’s Association Community Service Award, and The Lincoln Douglass Award. He serves as the Liaison for Prestigious Music Group, an independent management company in New York. He sat on the board of the Protect the Dream Youth program and Sadie Peterson Delaney African Roots Library. Currently on the board of CM2 (Community Matters2) community based organization.
